Good evening,

My family and I are very pleased with our experience. There were several highly recommended places, all of which were wonderful.

The driver, Akira-san, and especially Mr. Kim, were exceptionally kind and thoughtful. Even though we couldn’t speak Japanese, they were very caring. To our surprise, Mr. Kim could speak Korean, which I can as well, so communication was seamless.

The driver provided many recommendations, even when the weather was unpredictable. We had so much fun throughout this trip. There was a particularly bad snowstorm on our way to Noboribetsu, but it turned into an unforgettable memory.

Thank you for the excellent preparation and for responding quickly to questions, such as regarding luggage arrangements.

In the future, if we explore another area of Japan, we will definitely come back.

Thank you! 😊

Thank you! 😊

Hitachi Seaside Park Daytrip From Tokyo

May 18, 2025 by WISATA JEPANG

Hitachi Seaside Park is a vast national park located in Hitachinaka, Ibaraki Prefecture, Japan, renowned for its seasonal flowers that change throughout the year. The park offers spectacular views, especially during spring and autumn, making it a popular destination for both domestic and international tourists.

Itinerary Hitachi Seaside Park Day Trip from Tokyo

08:00 AM – Departure from Tokyo

The Alphard / Hiace vehicle will be ready and waiting outside your hotel in Tokyo at 8:00 AM. Our driver will accompany you on the drive to the coastline of Ibaraki Prefecture, home to Japan’s stunning sea of flowers: Hitachi Seaside Park.

10:00 AM – Arrive at Hitachi Seaside Park

Upon entering the park, you will be greeted by vast fields of seasonal flowers. If you’re visiting in mid-April, you’ll see the nemophila (baby blue eyes) in full bloom. The Miharashi Hill transforms into a soft blue sea that blends seamlessly with the sky. Every corner of this park is photogenic — you’ll be snapping pictures nonstop.

If you’re visiting in the autumn (October), the hill transforms completely: 32,000 kochia shrubs turn a fiery red, creating a dramatic contrast with the sky and the sea.

11:30 AM – Explore the Park by Bicycle

You can rent a bike and ride along the park’s designated cycling paths (spanning over 10 km!). The park is expansive, and cycling is the best way to explore the various flower zones: from tulip fields and sunflower gardens to vibrant cosmos shrubs.

12:30 PM – Picnic & Lunch with a Flower View

Stop by the picnic area near the tulip garden. Enjoy a packed bento lunch (prepared from Tokyo, or you can buy lunch at the park) while sitting on a mat, surrounded by colorful blooms. Lunch with such a stunning backdrop feels like something out of a movie scene.

02:00 PM – Seaside Train & Ferris Wheel

For a relaxing experience, take the Seaside Train for a leisurely tour around the park. It’s a perfect way to explore the area without tiring out, while listening to a brief commentary via loudspeaker. Kids especially enjoy this part. Don’t forget to hop on the Ferris wheel in the small amusement park, offering a 360° panoramic view of the park and the Pacific Ocean.

03:00 PM – Souvenir Shopping & Local Ice Cream

Before heading back, stop by the park’s souvenir shop. Here, you can purchase Ibaraki’s local sweets, heart-shaped kochia keychains, and, most notably — try the kochia and nemophila-flavored ice cream! It’s a refreshing and unique treat.

04:00 PM – Return to Tokyo

With your camera full and your heart happy, you’ll return to the vehicle. On the way back to Tokyo, the long day of beauty and exploration may leave you sleepy.

06:00 PM – Arrival in Tokyo

Arrive back at your hotel, satisfied with the day. It feels like a full vacation, despite being just a day trip. Hitachi Seaside Park is not just a park; it’s your escape from the hustle and bustle of Tokyo city life.

Thank you! 😊
